Experimental study and theoretical modeling for the compressive stress-strain relationship of multi-scale hybrid fiber-reinforced SHCC

In order to better match the multi-level structural characteristics and multi-scale fracture process of cementitious composite, hybrid fiber-reinforced strain hardening composite (MsHySHCC) was designed by adding hooked steel fiber calcium carbonate (CaCO3) whisker into conventional polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) SHCC. Compressive properties PVA-SHCC MsHySHCC were evaluated experimentally. The results indicate that had a compressive performance than PVA-SHCC. Moderately partially substituted PVA fibers steela CaCO3 enhanced parameters, however, further substitution increasing content didn’t bring higher promotion. Two kinds semi-theoretical compression constitutive models developed from perspective damage mechanics theory geometrical mathematical description, respectively. It found both proposed can be applied predict uniaxial stress-strain relationships MsHySHCCs.
